Marvel at this poem story, seen through the eyes of the sovereign of the resident golden baboons, of a year in the Luangwa Valley, person of the last true wildernesses in Africa. It appears to subsist an idyllic setting but beneath this quiet scene is a concentration of sentient being drama found nowhere else in Africa. In the keen season, the baboon troop witnesses wild struggles: lions and crocodiles fight superior carcasses and the life giving waters withdraw, pushing predators and prey together. Even the number leader has to face his admit baboon rival and in the ensuing fight a rare white baby baboon, his confess son, is fatally injured. This fine film captures the majesty and calamity of this spectacular valley of the Golden Baboons.
